Link Commander Version Three is released. Get More Efficient Bookmark Management From Link Commander. Resort Labs Announces Link Commander 2.1

For immediate release
December 27, 2005

Link Commander Version Three is released.

Link Commander is a utility that offers convenient management of web bookmarks and local links. It creates a single point of reference for all resource links across a PC system and includes fast access and search capabilities.

Resorts Labs announces the release of the third major version of Link Commander, a solution for bookmark and link management. It is designed to ease the frustrations of keeping track of the many resources available to modern PC users. The new version extends the number of supported browsers and bookmark formats and also has improved management of link collections. Added features in this version include the ability to tidy up and verify link collections while duplicate and dead links can also be removed. This version also offers improved access to the built-in Favourites list.

"Link Commander 3.0 supports all major browsers, including IE, Firefox, Opera, Mozilla, Netscape," comments Andrey Grishaev, CEO of Resorts Labs. "It is well known that many users work with multiple browsers on their home systems, office desktops and handhelds. Most browsers don't support bookmark exporting and this hinders cross-system operability. Link Commander solves the problem using a single bookmark database which is compatible with many different browsers. You simply drag a link from your chosen browser window onto the distinctive star-shaped program icon and the job is done. Better still, users can open the special Supervisor tool feature and add the currently active links in all open applications to a centralized link collection. Link Commander, of course, makes sure that all added bookmarks are valid and free of duplicates using a single mouse-click. Users can easily move bookmarks between different systems to manage and protect them."

The new version of Link Commander 3.0 extends the number of available link properties. These properties include priority, associated hot key, a short name and an optional link icon. A page description and keywords can also be automatically retrieved from the resource. These link properties are useful when running web searches via saved links. The link Properties window also provides an option to lock and password protect the link, the link folder or even the whole link collection while the property display includes useful bookmark statistics such as number of visits and most recent link verification results.

The program interface is intuitive and customisable. For example, the toolbar automatically adjusts itself as the program is used to give priority to the more heavily used features while editing of bookmark collections is done using drag and drop. Multiple tabbing is used to switch between the utilities main features. A right mouse click on the desktop icon opens a context menu for instant access to the program's options and tools.

Link Commander 3.0 main Features at a Glance: Support for both local links and web bookmarks. Support for all major browsers, including IE, Firefox, Portable Firefox, Opera, Mozilla, Netscape, etc. Instant bookmarking from any browser or application 'on the fly'. Incremental search through bookmark properties based on multiple search criteria. Real-time synchronization with IE Favorites. A full-function built-in web browser. Link image icons. Reliable synchronization and deletion of duplicates. Automatic duplicate control. Multi-format export and import capabilities. Intuitive and customizable user interface.
